Kirloskarvadi has an historic tradition for many many years in the area of Industry and Sports as well. There are many players, played various games like cricket, Tennis, Softball, Basket Ball in State & National Level.
The world is becoming more and more competitive in all fields of life events. Next generation shall be able to face the new challenges in all kinds of activities in academics as well in sports. There is a need to promote sports as this is also area in which one can make his career. India will be goingfor Commonwealth and Olympic games in the years to come. Vikas Charitable Trust is always and wants to be ahead in this field, and will be proud to bring out the local talents. To bring this dream in reality and to bring back the old golden Days, there is a need to go for a fully equipped Sports Complex, at Kirloskarvadi.
Vikas Charitable Trust wants to build a high level academic as well as the sports centre in this region to uplift the standard of the eligible and intelligent students and players, and be an active player as a contributing agent in improving wealth of the Nation. Hence, we provided various facilities to local talents in Kirloskarvadi and nearby rural surrounding areas.
There are many national players like Sri.Chabukswar, Raja Gurav, Vitthal Joshi - Maharashtra Ranaji Player, Ram Sutar, Prashant Sutar, Shewta Joshi, Arjun Sutar, Sumant Godbole etc represented in National & State Level and many more players in District Level Tournaments.
On 10th March 2010, this sports facility was inaugurated by Mr.Alok Kirloksar, Managing Director-SPP Pumps Limited & Non-Executive Director of Kirloskar Brothers Limited. We started the following sports activities in this complex with Best in class Coach.
Facilities
The S L Kirloskar Sports Academy conduct a training program for the age group of 8 to 16 years. The program consists of group lesson, individual guidance, physical exercise, Physical game training, mental training and conduct the matches.
Ground Tennis
Tennis is our passion and we want everyone to know what a great sport tennis is and so we strive to offer a great club atmosphere and excellent facilities at very minimum fees. In the Tennis club, we prepared 3 Clay Courts made of compressed shale, stone or brick. The court is well maintained, rolled periodically to preserve its flatness. Flood Light Facility is also provided. When lighting a tennis court, the objective is to ensure good visibility enabling both participants and spectators to follow the progress of a game.
Cricket
Well Equipped Cricket Ground having movable site screen, heavy & medium roller, Grass cutter machine. After inspection of Cricket ground and availability of lodging and boarding facilities, Maharashtra Cricket Association agreed to conduct cricket matches of under 14 and 16 years, district level tournaments at Kirloskarvadi from October 2010.
Swimming
To keep physical fitness of employees, family members and students, Kirloskar Brothers Limited has provided the swimming pool facility to residential colony people. The Swimming pool is 30 mtrs. long and 10 mtrs. wide. The training camps for students of age group 6 to 14 years are arranged in summer vacation.
Softball
Equipment required in softball includes a ball, a bat (composite, metal or wooden), gloves, uniforms and protective gear : for example, helmets for the offensive team and a helmet, shin guards and chest protector for the defensive catcher. Also cleats, sliding shorts, face masks and knee sliders may be worn for softball.
